Improving SBA.gov
My Work
π§ͺ Usability Testing
Improving the experience and content for users with the most diverse needs.
Project Overview
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) supports millions of entrepreneurs across the country. SBA.gov is the agencyβs primary digital platform, connecting business owners to funding, licensing guidance, and startup resources. I led design and user research improvements to ensure the site met the needs of a wide range of users. These updates helped remove friction in key workflows and made critical content more usable and clear.
Results and Impact
- Improved task flows and information delivery by restructuring form layouts and repositioning instructional content, helping users better understand and complete key actions across the site.
- Enhanced content clarity and comprehension by rewriting image descriptions and adjusting page structure, making the experience easier to navigate for users with varied needs.
- Streamlined Drupal publishing workflows by identifying and addressing inefficiencies, allowing internal teams to update content more efficiently and maintain consistency across pages.
- Strengthened the design process with real-world feedback from users of assistive technologies, ensuring the final experience reflected how people use the platform day to day.
